This species has not been previously reported from Puerto Rico. The senior author has collected 23 specimens of this distinctive taxon in the mountains north of Ponce. Most were taken in light traps in 1977 and 1978. No other specimens have been seen. The species, while not common, appears to be established in the Puerto Rican fauna.
