Type species: Typhlodromus ( Typhlodromopsis) simplicissimus De Leon, 1959 Diagnosis. Dorsal setae smooth but setae Z4 and Z5 often stout and serrated. Sternal shield with posterior margin straight or concave, without posterior projection. Ventri-anal shield usually pentagonal with three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2) arranged in a triangular pattern, and with a pair of either small or prominent pores. Peritreme reaching level of j1. Usually with three teeth. Macrosetae: Ge II, Ge III and often GeI with seven setae. Seta z2 shorter than distance to seta z4, seta z4 usually shorter than distance to seta s4 ( Chant & McMurtry, 2005b) .
