Endemic to Atlantic Forest from northeast to southeast Brazil in the States of Espírito Santo ( Sobral 2010), Pernambuco ( Amorim & Alves 2011a), and new records of this species for State of Sergipe are presented here.

Trees 5–7 m tall. This species differs from other Myrcia species by leaves 4.5–8.0 × 2.5–4.0 cm, a sulcate midvein on the adaxial lamina surface, linear bracteoles, falcate calyx lobes and subglose, verrucose fruit.
