Diagnosis. The forewing length is 14.0–15.0 mm in males and 16.5–17.5 mm in females. Teulisna differens sp. n. has the largest costal protrusion of the forewing among Poikilothosia subgen. n. species and is most reminiscent of T. taidona sp. n., from which it can be distinguished by its larger size and more evenly suffused hindwing. The male genitalia ground plan of T. differens sp. n. is similar to the T. protuberans species-group but differs in the broad swollen uncus, the lack of the caselli and plostri, the longer and broader juxta, and the more distally displaced protrusion of the dorsal fold of the sacculus. The phallus of T. differens sp. n. is narrow tubular and lacking the carinal process, and the vesica is relatively narrow and bears two robust conical cornuti (similar to the T. kishidai species-group). The female genitalia ground plan of T. differens sp. n. is reminiscent of the T. tricolor species-group but differs in the less medially constricted corpus bursae having a lateral sclerotised protrusion, and the very short conical and membranous appendix bursae situated postero-ventrally and directed posteriorly whereas in the T. tricolor species-group, the appendix bursae is clavate with a proximally sclerotised and rugose proximal section while its distal dilated section is membranous, and it is situated laterally and directed latero-anteriorly.
Distribution. The new species is known from Northern Vietnam (Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang Provinces) and Northern Laos (Houaphanh Province).
Etymology. The specific epithet is a Latin participle meaning ‘different’ and refers to the genitalia of the new species, which are markedly different from the externally similar members of the T. protuberans species-group.
