Notes:— Brandbyge (1986) acknowledges that Dugand labeled a number of specimens with this epithet, some of which we have seen ( US 3224042, US 3224043, US 3224045, US 3224046, US 3224047, NY4111964, NY4111973). Dugand designated one as “ TYPUS sp. nova” ( US 3224042). Brandbyge (1986) thought that Triplaris subandina might represent a novel taxon but ultimately included it within his concept of T. vestita . To our knowledge, Dugand never published this name or a description of the plants he thought it described.
