Triplaris abbreviata Rizzini (1974: 7–8 View in CoL , fig. 3) = Ruprechtia glauca Meisn. ( Meisner 1855: 59) View in CoL
Notes: —Searches only uncovered a single specimen labeled with this name (RB283493). This is the same specimen that was designated by the author as the holotype ( Rizzini 1974: 8). Brandbyge (1986) considered this species as belonging to Ruprechtia . The ongoing Flora do Brasil project has treated T. abbreviata Rizzini as the basionym of R. glauca Meisner ( Melo 2022) . The name does not appear in Pendry’s treatment of Ruprechtia (2004). He may not have been aware of it. More study may be warranted as the specimen does have hollow stems, something traditionally associated with Triplaris , but not Ruprechtia (but see Pendry 2004 for known exceptions).
