Notes:— A specimen at Oxford (OXF 190594) bears this name and authority. Vahl (1791) gives the name Triplaris americana and then cites as synonyms the concepts T. americana Rottbøll , T. americana Aublet , and T. americana Linnaeus. Vahl’s name appears to be a superfluous renaming of Linnaeus’ concept.
