Range: —Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP), western Brazil.
Ecology: —Very common; terrestrial and less commonly epiphytic, in humid forests; 700–2250 m.
Notes: —Differs from very similar Trichomanes cristatum mainly by the different abaxial rachis hairs (the adaxial rachis hairs are similar in both species). Both species frequently grow side-by-side and may hybridize.
