Diagnosis. See under L. gentilis suavis .

Distribution. Laccophilus ovatus zapotecus has a broad distribution ranging from Mexico and Central America to the Greater Antilles ( Zimmerman 1970; Spangler 1981). In Cuba, this subspecies is recorded only for the western parts of the country, including Isla de la Juventud ( Spangler 1981) ( Fig. 16 ).
