Description:— Pileus 1.5–4.1 cm diam., convex to applanate with a broad umbo at maturity; surface dry, shiny, fibrillose, margin striate, brownish grey (5PB3/1) to blackish grey (N3). Lamellae free, crowded, regular, margin even to fimbriate, light pink (10RP9/2) to brownish pink (5R7/3), lamellulae frequent, of variable lengths. Stipe 2.4–8.1 × 0.5–0.9 cm, cylindrical, central, surface slightly fibrillose, equal to slightly broad towards base, smooth, white. Annulus absent. Volva 2–2.5 cm in length, saccate, bilobed, margin even, white to brownish (N2) from the outer margin, light pink (10P9/2) from inner side.

Basidiospores [60/5/2] (4.2)4.3–5.9(6.1) × (3.6)3.7–4.5(4.7) µm, avl × avw = 5.1 × 4.1 μm, Q = 1.16–1.29, avQ = 1.23, ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid, smooth, apiculus prominent, monoguttulate, inamyloid, yellowish green in 5 % KOH. Basidia (15.5)15.8–22(24.1) × (8.1)8.3–11.2(11.6) µm, broadly clavate, 2–4 sterigmata. Cheilocystidia (30)32– 50(52) × (12)13.4–28.7(30) µm, clavate to ventricose-lageniform, fusiform or utriform, thin-walled. Pleurocystidia (22)24–25.3(34) × (6.1)7.3–9(10.5) µm, lageniform to mucronate. Pileipellis hyphae (2.7)2.8–5.5(5.6) µm diam., frequently septate, branched. Stipitipellis an intricate trichoderm, made up of septate hyphae (3.2)3.4–5.3(5.4) µm diam. Clamp connections absent. All tissues hyaline in 5 % KOH.
