Vehilius danius Bell, 1941 View in CoL ( type locality Brazil: Santa Catarina ) is not monophyletic with Vehilius seriatus ( Mabille, 1891) View in CoL ( type locality Venezuela: Valera) ( Fig. 13 View Figure 13 ) and therefore is not its subspecies, but instead is a species-level taxon in Gallio Evans, 1955 View in CoL ( type species Stomyles gallio Mabille, 1904 View in CoL , which is a junior subjective synonym of Vehilius carasta Schaus, 1902 View in CoL ), not grouping closely with any other species: Gallio danius (Bell, 1941) , reinstated status, new combination.
