Medinilla amabilis Dyer, Gard. Chron. n.s., 1: 373. 1874, syn. nov. Type: Cultivated at the Royal Botanic Gardens , Kew, leg. ign. s.n. (originally from Indonesia. Java) (holo K [ K000867243 ]).

Medinilla albiflora Merr., Philipp. J. Sci., C Bot. View in CoL 8: 385. 1913. Lectotype (designated by Regalado, 1995: 135): PHILIPPINES, Leyte, [Leyte province], Dagami, 22.06.1913, C.A. Wenzel 262 (MO n.v.; isolecto BM n.v., F [ V0093998 F, V0063618 F], L [L.2550029]).
