26. Medinilla bismarck-ramuensis W.N. Takeuchi, Sida View in CoL 18(4): 1071, fig. 1. 1999. Type: PAPUA NEW GUINEA, New Guinea, [Western Highlands province], Bismarck Range, Mt. Oibo , ridgeline near Camp 1, 2357 m, 04.10.1995, W.N. Takeuchi 10408 (holo LAE n.v.; iso A [ A00100930 , A00100931 ], K [ K000867471 , K000867472 ], L [ L 0821472 ]).

Distribution: Endemic to New Guinea ( Takeuchi, 1999).

Notes: Further investigation is needed to clarify the relationship among M. bismark-ramuensis and its close relatives such as M. markgrafii Merr. & L.M. Perry and M. multibracteata Bodegom. Bodegom and Veldkamp (2001) confirmed that the holotype (Takeuchi 10408) resembled M. multibracteata , while the paratype (Craven & Schodde 1157) represented M. markgrafii var. markgrafii .
