7. Medinilla amplexicaulis Blume, Mus. Bot. View in CoL 1(2): 20. 1849. Lectotype (designated by Bakhuizenvan den Brink, 1943: 192): INDONESIA, Sumatra, leg. ign. s.n. (L [ L 0537187 ]; isolecto L [ L 0537186 ], P [ P05260804 ]).
Distribution: Endemic to Sumatra ( Bakhuizen van den Brink, 1943).
Notes: According to Bakhuizen van den Brink (1943), Blume is the collector of the type. However, Blume never recorded collecting plants outside Java during his stay in the Netherland Indies (now Indonesia) ( van Steenis-Kruseman, 1950 ).
