Distribution: Sulawesi, Maluku ( Bakhuizen van den Brink, 1943).
Notes: Rumphius (1747) described Funis muraenarum based on two collections representing a male (fig. 1) and a female (fig. 2) specimen. Funis muraenarum mas (male) was confirmed as M. crispata , while the female ( Funis muraenarum femina ) was identified as M. macrocarpa (now M. crassinervia ) ( Blume, 1831; Merrill, 1917b).
