Distribution: Endemic to New Guinea ( Mansfeld, 1925).
Notes: The original type collections of M. lordbergiana from the herbarium in Berlin ( B) was not found and assumed lost during the Second World War. There was no other duplicate found at any other of the herbaria consulted .
