Rino 395-B], as Euglena fusca (G.AKlebs) Lemmermann).— SA: Rich 1932 [Gauteng Province, Brakpan 1, pH above 7, February, March, April, May, June and November 1928, leg. G. Evelyn Hutchinsin and J. Schuurman], as Euglena spirogyra var. marchica Ehrenberg ; Claassen 1961 [Limpopo Province, Moddernek, about nine miles north-north west of Nylstroom (now Modimolle), bottom of small pond (south side), almost black deposit; about 90 yards south of spring A, pH 5.8, 22 April 1954, and spring B, pH 5.4, 2 April 1955], as Euglena spirogyra var. major Claassen.

Note. In Claassen (1961: Pl. 32, fig. 11) the illustration is of Lepocinclis fusca , not E. spirogyra var. major Claassen.
