BO: Cronberg et al. 1995 [Okavango Delta], as Phacus suecicus Lemmermann ; Marazzi 2014 [Okavango Delta], as Phacus suecicus Lemmermann. — MO: Rino 1969 [Maputo City: Maputo, garbage pond, rare, 19 March 1969, J. Rino 369], as Phacus suecicus Lemmermann ; Rino 1972 [Maputo City: Maputo, in a puddle, next to the Maputo Airport roundabout, 3 February 1970, J. Rino 395-B], as Phacus horridus Pochmann ).— ZA: Thomasson 1966 [Lake Shiwa Ngandu (Lake Young), northern half, plankton collected at 0.5 m depth, water temp. 23ºC, pH 5.8, 1400 m a.s.l., 19 December 1963 (9.15 h), Symoens 0813], as Phacus suecicus Lemmermann.
Note. Phacus suecicus Lemmermann was recorded by Thomasson (1966), Rino (1969: Pl. 5, fig. 2), as well as Cronberg et al. (1995), Marazzi (2014) —it is a doubtful taxon, it should be a synonym of Lepocinclis hispidula (see Łukomska-Kowalczyk et al. 2020a). Phacus suecicus var. inermis Nygaard was found in Zambia by Thomasson (1966: Pl. XIII, fig. 14) [Lake Shiwa Ngandu (Lake Young), northern half, plankton collected at 0.5 m depth, water temp. 23ºC, pH 5.8, 1400 m a.s.l., 19 December 1963 (9.15 h), Symoens 0813], is also a doubtful taxon that needs more studies to understand its taxonomic position.
