Distribution in Nepal: Bagmati Province, Kavrepalanchok District, Punyamata Khola at Banepa and Shreekhandpur; Gandaki Province, Kaski District, Orlan Khola, Phirke Khola ( Nesemann et al. 2013).
Distribution elsewhere: India ( Mandal et al. 2010; Tripathi & Bhardwaj 2004a); Myanmar, Philippines, Pakistan ( Gates 1972; Julka 1988), United Arab Emirates ( Reynolds 2019 b).
Habitat: Plantation ( Ahmed et al. 2020) forest, crop field, grassland, bank of ponds and stream ( Tripathi & Bhardwaj 2004b; Miglani et al. 2022).
Ecology: Endogeic ( Miglani et al. 2022).
Remarks: Native peregrine. Eponym after L. Bishambar Das at Punjab University who collected the type specimens.
