Frigid Miner

Notes: This early spring bee is an oligolege of willow ( Salix sp. ) (LaBerge 1980) and the most abundant visitor to those in its core, northern, range (Mosseler et al. 2020; Ostaff et al. 2015). In Connecticut it has been collected on or near its host plant in suburban neighborhoods, agricultural land, forest edges, and on school campuses.
