Diffuse annual up to 50 cm. Leaves 8-20 x 1 -2 mm, semicylindrical, semitranslucent, acuminate or mucronate, usually with a fine caducous apex up to 1 mm. Cymes dense. Fruiting perianth very inflated, rugose. Seeds smooth, usually horizontal. 2« = 18. Mediterranean region, extending to C. Portugal. Al Co Ga Gr Hs It Lu?Rm Sa Tu.
