1. A. vernalis L. View in CoL , Sp. Pl. 547 (1753) View Cited Treatment . 10-40 cm. Stem scaly at base. Cauline leaves sessile, not or scarcely longer than wide, 2-pinnatisect into linear, entire lobes. Flowers 4-8 cm in dia­ meter. Sepals I as long as petals, broadly obovate, pubescent. Petals 10-20, elliptic. Achenes c. 3-5 mm, almost globose, reticulately rugose and rather densely pubescent; beak short, curved and appressed to achene. 2/z= 16. E., C. & S.
