Biennial (10-)20-90(-100) cm. Basal leaves lanceolate or oblanceolate, sinuate, dead at flowering time, grey-green; lower cauline dentate to sinuate-dentate. Pedicels 2-5 mm in flower, up to 8 mm in fruit. Sepals 6—8-5(—9) mm; petals 12-18 x 4-6-5 mm, bright yellow; limb broadly obovate; anthers 2-5-3 mm. Siliqua 20-70 x 1-1-2 mm, mostly erect; hairs on angles mainly medifixed. 2« = 24. • C. Europe extending to E. France, N. Italy, N. Greece and W. Russia.
