Perennial, but sometimes flowering the first year, 20-80 cm, woody at the base. Lower leaves not rosulate, petiolate, pinnatipartite, with 4-8 segments, glabrous or with some hairs at the margin, foetid when crushed. Petals 7-5-14 mm, sulphur-yellow. Siliqua 20-60 x 1- 2 mm, borne erect on long patent pedicels; gynophore 0- 5 mm, more or less conspicuous. 2/2 = 22. W., S. and C.
