Annual with a single erect stem 20-40 cm, glabrous. Basal leaves Iong-petiolate, lyrate, with toothed obovate lobes; upper cauline leaves linear, entire. Sepals 1-1-5 mm; petals twice as long as sepals, sometimes reddish. Stamens 6. Pedicels 3-4 mm in fruit. Silicula 5-6 x 3- 5 mm, broadly elliptical, narrowly winged above, glabrous; style not projecting beyond the deep apical notch. Cotyledons deeply 3-lobed. Cultivated and naturalized throughout much o f Europe. Naturalized in all except Al BI Co H b Is Tu. (Egypt and W. Asia.)
