Description

The specimens have cushion or globular morphology. The colour pale brown when preserved in ethanol. Given the fact that the specimens were not observed, in situ, their natural colour is unknown. The oscula are visible on papillae. The surface is hispid ( Fig. 13A View Fig ).

Skeleton

The skeleton is clearly divided between the cortex (ectosome) and the choanosome ( Fig. 13B View Fig ). Its conformation is radial with a denser mass of tylostyles at the surface, creating the hispidation. Megascleres are: tylostyles with 170–1300 µm× 7.5×15 µm in size (N=7), and very thin oxeas/ trichodragmas, measuring 50.1– 71.5 –132.9 ± 17.37 µm (N=34) ( Fig. 12C View Fig ).
