Lectotype (Fawcett & Rendle, Fl. Jamaica 5: 88. 1926): Browne, Herb. Linn. No. 691.4 ( LINN) .

Current name: Corchorus astuans L. ( Tiliaceae ).

Note: This appears to be an orthographic variant accidentally introduced in 1771 in expanding the description and synonymy of C. aestuans L. (1759) .
