[ Hymenophýllum n.–gr. hym´ēn = membrana; gr. phýllon = hoja. Las frondes son muy tenues]
Rizoma subfiliforme, postrado-radicante. Frondes esparcidas; lámina translúcida, constituida por una sola capa de células. Valvas de lo que se llama indusio cortitas, pero no sobrepasadas por el receptáculo esporangífero, externamente invisible.
