Leptandrothrips robustus (Okajima) comb. nov.

Apterygothrips robustus Okajima, 2006: 160–161 View in CoL .

This species was described from the subtropical Ogasawara (= Bonin) Islands, Japan, under the genus Apterygothrips View in CoL , and is known only from micropterae. It has commonly been taken from dead leafy branches of ever green trees and dead Palmae fronds, and may be the fungus-feeder.

Specimens examined. Japan, Ogasawara (Chichi-jima Is., and Haha-jima Is.), many females and males including the type series (see Okajima 2006: 161) .
