Subgenus Calochara Casey, 1906
Differential diagnosis. The subgenus Calochara can be distinguished from other Aleochara subgenera by the combination of the following characters: body robust and compact; pronotum with uniform pubescence; 5-5-5 tarsal formula; mesoventrite with longitudinal carina which is not longer than half the length of the mesoventrite; mesoventrital process long, reaching to more or less ¾ of the mesocoxal cavity, with narrowly rounded apex; aedeagus with 1–3 pairs of sclerites; bursa more or less semicircular, duck short and thick, bent 90 degrees apically ( Klimaszewski 1984).
