Notes: The knowledge on Apethymus is very insufficient in Norway. Species in this genus flies in late autumn, and they are rarely collected. In Europe, 7 species or so are known ( Taeger et al., 2006). The taxonomic status for the species in this genus has been a subject for some confusion. The Palaearctic species has been revised by Koch (1988). Three species occurs in Norway, two are new to the fauna.
