Lomaptera Gory & Percheron, 1833 View in CoL
[124 species and 34 additional subspecies].
The valid type species fixation is that of Gory & Percheron (1833) where Lomaptera latreillei Gory & Percheron (1833) View in CoL is the only species mentioned.
However, that species is currently included in the genus Ischiopsopha Gestro, 1874 View in CoL . MacLeay (1838) subsequently selected Lomaptera bivittata Gory & Percheron, and Chevrolat (1846) View in CoL selected Lomaptera fasciata Burmeister, 1842 View in CoL as the type species, but neither is an originally included nominal species and both are recognised as junior synonyms of Ischiopsopha bifasciata (Quoy & Gaimard, 1825) View in CoL . The current concept of the genus is based on the type species Cetonia papua Guérin-Méneville, 1831 View in CoL , which is not an originally included nominal species, as designated by Valck Lucassen (1961). An application to the Commission is necessary to fix Cetonia papua Guérin-Méneville, 1831 View in CoL as the type species of Lomaptera Gory & Percheron, 1833 View in CoL .
