Note — The oldest epithet ( nymphoides ), established by
Linnaeus (1753), cannot be used in the genus Nymphoides because it would form a tautonym ( Turland et al. 2018: Art. 23.4). Therefore, the epithet peltata becomes the correct epithet for this species.
