Notes. A species native to parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and Central Asia ( Janicki et al. 2016; Guénard et al. 2017). The taxonomic status of the genus Lepisiota needs clarification; some darker forms of other species may have been confused with L. nigra ( Borowiec 2014) . On Astypalaia, we collected the species in dry urban, agricultural, and natural habitats (phrygana, maquis, a beach, and dry streams).
