status

Kamimuria dulongjiangensis Zeng, Huo & Du, 2025 , sp. nov.

Figs. 2–3 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3

Male. Colouration generally yellow-brown (specimens exhibit pale coloration because they were collected prior to complete sclerotization). Head with a dark brown heart-shaped ocellar patch, the ocelli separated by width greater than the diameter of a lateral ocellus ( Fig. 2A, B View FIGURE 2 ). Antennae yellow-brown, palpi light brown. Pronotum light brown with darker pigmentation along lateral, anterior and posterior margins and along median suture, rugosities darker than background. Legs pale to yellowish, femorotibial joints dark brown. Wing membranes pale and opaque, veins pale.

Body length 16–17 mm (n = 2). Tergum 1–7 unmodified. Tergum 8 sometimes bears a scattered, sparse medial patch of sensilla basiconica. Tergum 9 features a larger medial patch of sensilla basiconica that extends along the full length of the tergum. The hemitergal lobe is slender and finger-like, with the apex slightly recurved, nearly reaching the posterior margin of tergum 9. In dorsal view, each lobe sharply narrows medially ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ).

The endophallus has a bilobed membranous projection at the ventral apex, with a larger membranous apex on the ventral surface side ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ). With the exception of the membranous projection and a narrow, spine-free longitudinal region running along the middle of the dorsal surface, the entire surface is covered with small spines.

Female, egg and nymph. Unknown.

Distribution. This species is known only from the type locality, Dulongjiang Township of Yunnan Province.

Type material. Holotype: male ( ICYZU), China: Yunnan Province, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Gonshan Dulong Autonomous County, Dulong River , Dulongjiang Township , 27.8425° N, 98.3274° E, 2024.VI.5, Xiao Yang, Liangliang Zeng GoogleMaps . Paratype: 1 male ( ICYZU), same data as holotype GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality, Dulongjiang Township.

Remarks. The male of the new species is similar to K. shiae Li, Kong & Liu, 2020 (see fig. 2 in Li et al., 2020), in that both species have similarly arranged spines on the endophallus. However, in K. dulongjiangensis sp. nov., the head has a distinctive dark brown heart-shaped ocellar patch, which K. shiae lacks. The endophallus possesses only a narrow, spine-free longitudinal region running along the midline of its dorsal surface. In K. shiae , the head has a brown triangular ocellar patch. The endophallus exhibits progressively separated lateral spinous patches basally on its dorsal surface, accompanied by three spine-free regions at the base.
