There are no molecular data of the present species, but for two congeneric species gene sequences are available, which may support the phylogenetic affinity of the genus and the species. Trikentrion helium from California, published by Turner & Pankey 2023 (COI gene, GenBank accession nr. OM234775 View Materials ), and T. flabelliforme from Australia by Erpenbeck et al. 2008 and Thacker et al. 2013, both 28SrRNA, GenBank accession nrs EU146431 View Materials and KC869511 View Materials respectively) and Redmond et al. 2013, 18SrRNA gene, Genbank accession nr. KC902078 View Materials .
