Ephydatia fluviatilis View in CoL
Unfortunately, Naturalis colleague Niels van der Windt was not successful in obtaining sequences from the neotype, presumably because the preservation of the specimen was compromised by having been put into formalin when collected. Robert et al. (2022: Table 1) provided non-type material sequences of Swedish populations of E. fluviatilis (both 28SrRNA and COI, GenBank accession nrs OL985643 View Materials and OL970208). Many other specimens from other localities and regions are available in the literature, e.g. sequences of an Irish specimen were published by Morrow et al. [2012, GenBank accession nr. EF591285 View Materials (28SrRNA)], of German specimens by Meixner et al. [2007, GenBank accession nrs. AJ843884 View Materials and DQ167174 View Materials (COI, voucher ZMB 12658) and AJ705048 View Materials and DQ167158 View Materials (18SrRNA], and of a presumably Belgian specimen by Richelle-Maurer, Van de Vyver & Pomponi (unpublished, directly submitted) [2005, GenBank accession nr. AY578146 View Materials (18SrRNA)]. A North American specimen was sequenced by Addis & Peterson [2005, GenBank accession nr. DQ176777 View Materials (COI)]. There also many ITS sequences available from GenBank, including sequences from a Chinese specimen by Zhao et al. (2023, GenBank accession numbers OP692697 View Materials & OP692698 View Materials ).
