Type locality: — Japan 0
Description and remarks: —Thalli are upright and measure 8–23 cm tall. The stipe is 2 mm in diameter and has a robust and leathery texture. The blades are 3–13 cm long, lanceolate and grow individually on the stipe. Branching may occur along the midrib giving rise to a new leaf-like blade. Blade margins are usually entire but some may be undulate to slightly crisped and ruffled. The reproductive sori occur as small brown dots and scattered along the blade on both sides of the midrib. This species was collected at Mushima old port and was common in the spring months.
