Key to Afrotormus species

1 Body larger, 2.8–3.0 mm long. Anapleural sutures of mesothorax distinct ( Fig. 19B ). Mesoventral plate wider (19B). Male labial palpi modified, bearing widened palpomeres 2–3 and a large membranous lobe on palpomere 3 ( Figs 18D , 20 E–F). Hind wings absent. Apical portion of parameres very narrow ( Fig. 20A ). ..... A. metallescens Hansen, 1999

– Body smaller, 1.8–2.0 mm long. Anapleural sutures completely reduced ( Fig. 19C ). Mesoventral plate narrow, parallel-sided ( Fig. 19C ). Male labial palpi not modified, similar to that of female ( Figs 18C , 20 G–H). Hind wings present.
