Materials examined. IaȘi County: IaȘi, 47.1649°N / 27.5821°E, 10.XII.2021, found inside the building, Alexandru-Mihai Pintilioaie leg. (1 specimen), AMPC GoogleMaps .

Remarks. Even if the species was described on the basis of specimens collected in America , the origin of the species is probably North Africa, given that insect remains were discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamun ( Retief & Nicholas 1988). In Europe, it was first recorded in France in 1848 ( Runner 1919). It feeds on plant-based materials, and as its popular name suggests (cigarette beetle), it is an important pest of tobacco ( Teodorescu et al. 2006); in addition, Lasioderma serricorne is a contaminant in sheds, warehouses, and living quarters ( Burcea 1985; PaȘol et al. 2013). In Romania, the species is present in all regions, with a detailed distribution not given.
