Type species: Pipunculus helluo Perkins, 1905 ; by original designation.
The genus Clistoabdominalis Skevington, 2001 was only recently erected as a result of a phylogenetic study on the world Eudorylini ( Skevington & Yeates 2001) . Some of the key characters of this genus are an enlarged and subshining syntergosternite 8, which bears only a small membranous area or none at all, a normally enlarged ejaculatory apodeme and a considerably deflected hypandrium.
