The subspecies differs from the nominotypical subspecies mainly in the following characters.
Description. Measurements. Holotype: Body length 5.18 mm, width 1.43 mm; ratio length/width of pronotum 0.96; ratio length/width of elytra 1.92. All material: Body length 4.71-5.21 mm (ẍ = 5.02 mm *), width 1.35–1.46 mm (ẍ = 1.41 mm *), ratio L/W of pronotum 0.93–0.96 (ẍ = 0.94*), ratio L/W of elytra 1.92–1.98 (ẍ = 1.96*); (*n = 4).
Head with clypeo-frontal furrow flat, indistinct, neck constriction more closed by band of irregular punctures.
Pronotum ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 53–67 ) with lateral margin indistinctly convex, nearly straight, with slight impression basally at level of posterior setigerous puncture.
Elytron ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 27–37 ) with shape seemingly more slender with lateral margin not as much convex as in the nominative subspecies.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 99 View FIGURES 97–104 ). Median lobe narrowed towards apex, somewhat thickened apically, distorted and fractuate at apex.
Female gonocoxites and epipleurite ( Fig. 125 View FIGURES 110–128 ). Gonocoxite slightly wider, epipleurite with one medium sized setae.
Variation not observed.
Distribution. Solomon Islands.
Diagnosis. The subspecies differs from the nominotypical subspecies mainly by the more prominent eye, the pronotum which is more slender and shows slight depressions at level of posterior setigerous punctures, and the male aedeagus with narrowed distorted and fractuate apex.
Etymology. The name refers to the Solomon Islands, where the specimens were found.
