Type material. Holotype: ♂, with labels and data: white, black printed “ Sumatra Palembang M. KNAPPERT.” / white, black printed “ Ex coll. B.H.Klynstra ” / red, black printed “ Type ” / white, black printed and handwritten in black ink “ Clivina integra Andr. Type H.E.Andrewes det.” / white, black printed “ H.E.Andrewes Coll. Remark. The historically designated and available ‘ type material’ of C. integra consists of the ‘type’ and four ‘co-types’. The ‘type’ and one ‘co-type’ are conspecific, fit with the description, and represent C. integra whereas the other three ‘co-types’ represent another species (see also the remarks under C. similata sp. nov.). Some of the historic specimens investigated are damaged, mostly in the legs, including the type material. The species is described by Andrewes (1929b).

Compendious description. A small sized piceous species with the following measurements: Body length 4.10– 5.32 mm (ẍ = 4.95 mm *), width 1.27–1.63 mm (ẍ = 1.48 mm *), ratio L/W of pronotum 0.87–0.93 (ẍ = 0.91*), ratio L/W of elytra 1.77–1.87 (ẍ = 1.82*); (*n = 10).

Head with labrum seven-setose, straight anteriorly. Median part of clypeus separated from clypeal-wing by distinct notch, lateral teeth of clypeus moderately projecting, angulate, clypeal-wing not as far projecting as clypeal-teeth. Eye prominent, gena small but distinct. Clypeo-frontal furrow flattened, more distinct laterally. Neck constriction developed as line of impressed punctures, deeper laterally, open at middle. Frons with indistinct impression at middle, covered with small punctures.

Pronotum ( Fig. 70 View FIGURES 68–72 ) glossy on disc, square, seemingly slightly wider than long, flattened at middle and moderately convex in frontal view, flattened in lateral view, with lateral margin slightly and regularly convex, widest at middle, anterior angles somewhat rounded but clearly marked, posterior angles somewhat rounded, clearly less projecting laterally than lateral margin, lateral margin slightly crenate, surface bilaterally with short impression, continued anteriorly as group of punctures, with isodiametric reticulation at base; lateral margin from posterior angle to flange of base slanted with angle of around 35°, basal channel and carina of flange of regular size. Proepisternum with isodiametric reticulation, latero-anteriorly with some transverse wrinkles.

Elytron ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 27–37 ) elongate, flattened in lateral view, lateral margin slightly convex, subcrenulated in anterior quarter, striae one to four ending free at base, interval three with four setigerous punctures; striae impunctate; intervals moderately convex, interval eight, half of interval seven as well as base of interval six isodiametrically reticulated, intervals seven and eight carinate in apical fifth, interval three at base with minute tubercle. Abdomen with isodiametric reticulation, transverse at middle, two apical setigerous punctures widely separated.

Hind wing fully developed. Intermediate tibia with nine tubercles with setae above the spur at the lateral side.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 102 View FIGURES 97–104 ). Median lobe regularly arcuate in basal half, straight in apical half, with apical lamella slightly bent at apex, base with basal oroficium in lateral view moderately distorted. In lateral view duck-bill like. Parameres slender, spatulate, and hyaline in apical third, asetose (at 500-fold).

Female gonocoxites and epipleurite ( Fig. 127 View FIGURES 110–128 ). Gonocoxites scapiform, elongated, fragile, less sclerotized, not fused, completely movable; basal gonocoxite 1 widened, with two medium-sized setae, apical gonocoxite 2 slender, conspicuously elongated, cylindrical in apical half, with one fine seta basally and one long setae a third before apex, with two long setae at apex. Epipleurite formed by hyaline velum, furnished with single seta basally.

Variation. On the frons of the head, the flattened clypeo-frontal furrow is more or less distinct, and the neck constriction is slightly more complete in the holotype. On the pronotum, the number of punctures vary. On the elytron, the minute tubercle at the base of interval three varies in size. The reticulation on interval seven varies from a small stripe to half of the interval.

Distribution. Known from the islands of Sumatra and Nias, and from the southern part of the Malay Peninsula.
