Compendious description. A larger sized piceous species with the following measurements: Body length 6.07–6.94 mm (ẍ = 6.54 mm *), width 2.03–2.61 mm (ẍ = 2.27 mm *), ratio L/W of pronotum 0.89–0.95 (ẍ = 0.92*), ratio L/W of elytra 1.89–2.02 (ẍ = 1.95*); (*n = 10).

Head with labrum seven-setose, nearly straight. Median part of clypeus separated from clypeal-wing by distinct notch, clypeal-wings less projecting as lateral teeth of clypeus. Eye semicircular protruding laterally, gena indistinct. Clypeo-frontal furrow distinct, rugose. Neck constriction developed as distinct step. Frons with central impression at middle, with scattered small punctures, facial carina distinct.

Pronotum ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 38–52 ) quadrate, wider than long, distinctly convex in frontal view, moderately convex in lateral view, with lateral margin slightly convex at middle, widest at middle, anterior angles rounded off, posterior angles marked by distinct tooth, lateral margin subcrenulated (in lateral view), surface bilaterally with line-like punctures laterally in basal half, with two clouds of punctures anterior to the line-like punctures, glossy on disc, with finely scattered punctures; basal part of lateral margin from posterior angle to flange of base slanted with angle of less than 20°, basal channel and carina of flange narrow. Proepisternum with distinct isodiametric reticulation, laterally with fine transverse wrinkles.

Elytron ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 3–14 ) subcylindrical in frontal view, lateral margin smooth, striae one to four ending free at base, interval three with four setigerous punctures; Intervals moderately convex, intervals six, seven and eight as well as base and quarter of apex isodiametrically reticulated, interval eight carinate in apical quarter, seventh with very short carina at apex, third at base with small but distinct tubercle.

Lower surface with abdomen with isodiametric reticulation, two apical setigerous punctures widely separated. Hind wing fully developed.

Intermediate tibia with eight tubercles with setae above the spur at the lateral side.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 77 View FIGURES 73–84 ). Median lobe regularly curved, with straight apex, apex with flattened and regularly acuminated lamella. Endophallus with group of bristles. Parameres moderately wide, acuminated and distorted in apical third, at apex with one short seta.

Female gonocoxites and epipleurite ( Fig. 108 View FIGURES 105–109 ). Gonocoxites scapiform, elongated, moderately sclerotized, not fused, completely movable; basal gonocoxite 1 elongated, with two long setae, apical gonocoxite 2 slender, distinctly elongated, cylindrical in apical half, with two long setae at apex, with one long seta at middle, with two small setae at lateral margin in basal half. Epipleurite with two groups of three setae, each.

Variation. The clypeal-furrow on the frons varies slightly in its rugosity. In few specimens, there are slight impressions on the frons laterally and posteriorly of the clypeal-furrow. The supraantennal plates vary slightly in its lateral convexity. In one specimen from Thailand (Prov. Nan, Bo Khua ) the tubercle at base of the third interval is missing .

Distribution. The species seems to be widely distributed from Nepal, northern India, and south-western China, to Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia.
