Distribution. Subcosmopolitan species, a fruit pest (infesting stone fruits and berries in particular), apparently originating from the Oriental Region and for almost a century known also from the eastern part of the Palaearctic Region. Over the past decade, the species expanded to the Nearctic and Neotropical regions as well as to the western part of the Palaearctic. It has been recently reported from Georgia ( Japoshvili et al., 2018). First records for Azerbaijan.
