We are not aware of any confirmed report from Svalbard although several specimens in TRH is named Barbilophozia lycopodioides , but they are in need of revision. Specimens in TRH that we have seen seem to deviate morphologically from what is found in boreal and alpine areas of Scandinavia. Further studies are needed to clarify the taxonomic status of these specimens.

NOTE: Lophoziopsis longidens subsp. arctica has never been confirmed for Svalbard and the existing secondary reports seem to be based only on the possibility that the subspecies occurs there. However, there is a specimen in TRH identified by A.A. Frisvoll as this subspecies, but the specimen is not available to re-study at the moment.
