Distribution — Native to tropical America, now a circumtropical weed; throughout Malesia (Van Ooststroom & Hoogland 1953).
Habitat & Ecology — In grasslands, thickets, hedges, waste places, waysides, fields, also in savannah-forests and occasionally on sandy sea-shores, from sea level to 750 m (Van Ooststroom & Hoogland 1953).
Vernacular names — Fehuc-fuic (Tetum), naubia-talin (Manbae).
