Distribution. MEXICO: Veracruz.
Remarks. The “imperfect female” mentioned in the original description by Bates (1888) is apparently not present in the collection, as the only specimen is a male. Moore et al (2017) do not list any type material of this species in Natural History Museum. The specimen is indicated as a lectotype by Morón’s labels but we could find no evidence of his designation having been published. In the interest of consistency and to clarify the application of the name Plusiotis chloreis H.W. Bates, 1888 , the specimen with number NHMUK 014589803 is here designated as the lectotype.
