Remarks. The lectotype is listed as present in BMNH by Moore et al. (2017) but the paralectotypes are not. Lectotype status was inferred from specimen labels, but it cannot be ascertained whether any designation was ever published. In the interest of consistency with the published literature, and to clarify the application of the name Plusiotis chalcothea H.W. Bates 1888 , the specimen with number NHMUK 014589454 is here designated as lectotype.
