Replaced name:— Puccinia pulchella Y. Ono & Kakish. (nom. illegitimate).

Type:— Holotype in TSH (R0241).

Description:—See description of P. pulchella by Ono and Kakishima (1981) and Hiratsuka et al. (1992).

Hosts and distribution in Japan:—0, I on Viola grypoceras A. Gray (Hon), V. hondoensis W. Beck. & Boiss. (Hon), V. keiskei Miq. (host by inoculations), V. kusanoana Makino (host by inoculations), V. yezoensis Maxim. (Hon), Viola x wittrockiana Gams ex Nauenb. & Buttler (host by inoculations); II, III on Carex aphanolepis Franch. & Sav. [= C. japonica var. aphanolepis (Franch. & Sav.) Kuk ex Matsum. ] (Hon) ( Ono & Kakishima 1981, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).

Notes:—This species name was replaced for P. pulchella Y. Ono & Kakish. because P. pulchella Y.Ono & Kakish. is an illegitimate later homonym of P. pulchella Peck under ICNafp Shenzhen Code Art 53.1 ( Turland et al. 2018) by Ji et al. (2022). Life cycle of this species was proved by Ono & Kakishima (1981). This species has been reported from Russian Far East ( Azbukina 2005).
